The Palin Success

The media’s hatred of Governor Palin constantly being fed over the airways, it can be easy to lose sight of what a strong pick she has been for the McCain campaign. At my local NH McCain office volunteer sign-ups took off after Thursday night’s debate. Yard sign were plucked up by supporters, and door to door canvassers are at peak numbers.

As Rasmussen reported, “In a separate survey last month, 49% of voters believed that most reporters are trying to help Obama win the presidency. Only 14% thought they are trying to help McCain win.” This is even more apparent with the media’s blatant contempt for Governor Palin. The good news is that the people know it, and admire Governor Palin even more for greeting all the media snobbery with a smile and a quick wit.

Don’t believe me? Contact you local McCain Victory office, and ask them.

  1. Yeah… real hatred for Palin. How DARE they ask her the tough questions! How dare they ask her opinion on Supreme court decisions!

(the first one that comes to mind that I DISAGREE with is Bush V Gore by the way…)

How dare they expect her to answer important questions on the issues at a debate. They should worship her for giving her stump speech during an important debate where America wants answers to the issues, not claims of being a Maverick or “fixing Washington” by being an “outsider” who has no idea what’s going on outside of Alaska’s borders.

I love watching the RCP avg. keep going up for Obama…

UP .2 points in two days.

I told everyone that Biden one… there’s the proof

    Obama/Biden 08

  3. Question. How has she been a strong pick for the McCain Campaign? Do you believe she is the best pick for the ticket? I admit she does appeal to some without a doubt. However, the problems she presents for the ticket, I think, greatly outweigh any of the benefits. As for the poll, Rasmussen is an opinion poll, it does not mean that reporters are actually trying to do this. I wonder how much web sites such as yours are adding to this belief? When some in the media, and in someways you qualify as this, constantly talk about media bias, how long before some people start to believe it?

  4. your bro- the queston YOU should ask yourself how many Obama sites are set up? How many televions networks, how many media tie-ins?

    The list goes on.

Don’t question someone that has different beliefs that the messiah?

We aren’t buying it – and it’s killing you Obama Trolls that you won’t be changihng our minds.

As a matter of fact, the dribbles that comes out of all of your mouths is a confirmation of why we won’t vote for this empty suit.

Good luck – you’ll need it – our support is getting stronger – the internet -it’s a wonderful thing for Obama and now finally for McCain/Palin -because this is where Obama can’t control the situation.

Keep picking on Palin – the more she pisses you guys off the more I’m convinced that McCain made the right decision – she scares the crap out of Obama.

She’s had more viewers and not more people are showing up to see her in person and on television.

    Your boy is going down.

  5. The polls are biased. In 2004 they showed Kerry with a landslide lead – oh and they were wrong.

Only the weak minded follow what’s thrown in their face and take it for face value.

    NOBama!

  6. Let’s talk about the ignorant 29 year “did nothing in office” – big mouth racist that he picked as his running mate – who only got 1% of the vote during the Democratic Primaries.

I think NOBama is the one with the “problem” pick.

  7. Sparky. My question is my question. I would like an answer to it. I think it’s a valid question. If you can’t answer the question then say you can’t answer it, instead of redirecting my point. If you would like to ask me some questions I would be glad to answer them.

As far as questioning those who don’t share the same beliefs, really? The great thing about this country is that we can question people. I ask questions so that I can better understand. I may think one way, but if someone can produce a strong argument then maybe I will change my mind. And even if I don’t change my mind I can least feel like I understand the situation better.

I agree with you that polls can be biased which is one of the reasons I posted my first question.

In addition, I would argue that you should take your own advice with your last statement.

  8. Only the weak minded follow what’s thrown in their face and take it for face value.

“Hello Pot? This is the Kettle.”

  9. Your bro –

“How has she been a strong pick for the McCain Campaign? ”

She is line with some of the fundamental ideologies of the Republican Party -more so than McCain. McCain is a more moderate Republican bordering on a moderate Democrat (such as Liberman). By selecting her, he has validated his stance with the bible belters – in my opinion.

“Do you believe she is the best pick for the ticket? I admit she does appeal to some without a doubt.”

I believe that selecting a woman in the throws of Obama dissing Hillary was a brilliant move. First, very limited people thought she was in the running. When McCain selected her right after Obama’s “big speech” he totally stole his “thunder”.

She has more Executive Power than all three candidates. No matter how the media spins it – they can not deny that she is a Governor of the largest state ihn the country (Texas is 2nd) and former Mayor.

She has pretty much upset her own party in Alaska, but was able to cross the aisle and pass bills through with the Democrats (same as McCain) – they are both Mavericks in the right environment.

She is intelligent enough to have climbed the political scale on her own determination and prowess.

To say that she is where she is based solely on their looks – you may want to take a look at “pretty face” Obama.

I am very successful in my field, I was highly insulted that people would make comments that I was there based on my looks – I worked 3x harder than any of my male counterparts. Based on my hard work and dedication I was able to overcome obsticals and now am considered an equivalent or higher level.

By adding the below, you are injecting your own perception into the readers response – leave the question as is.

“However, the problems she presents for the ticket, I think, greatly outweigh any of the benefits….”

    The pot is now boiling…..

  10. Thank you for answering my questions. While I disagree with some your assessment of how she is strong, I at least respect you answering them instead of going off on a rant that makes lots of assumptions about me and others.

I agree she strengthens the McCain ticket with the religious right wingers. However, while McCain does need the far right’s support, he needs the moderates and independents more.

Yes, she has more governing executive power than the other 3 candidates and Alaska is the biggest state in terms of land size. However, in population, Alaska is 47th. It does not matter to me that she is the gov of this sized state. But if you are going to argue that the shear size of the state makes her more qualified than a gov of a state that is geographically smaller, I would argue population size is more important. The larger the population the more issues and probably the bigger the budget.

If you think that it was a good choice to pick a woman because of the issues Obama had with Hillary and not picking her to be vp, I would say it was a nice idea but you have to pick a qualified woman. I do not think she is qualified to run this country. I do not think she has the necessary knowledge of the issues a president would need in order to govern wisely.

When interviewed, Palin does nothing to convince me that she understands the issues. She gives answers that lead me to believe that she is repeating talking points (repeated use of the word Maverick). All the media has been doing is showing her responses and discussing it. Show me examples of intelligent answers that show understanding of the issues and I will change my mind. Show me that the media is suppressing those answers and I’ll believe the bias claim.

    As for,

{By adding the below, you are injecting your own perception into the readers response – leave the question as is.

    “However, the problems she presents for the ticket, I think, greatly outweigh any of the benefits….”}

I am definitely injecting my perception as it is my question. I am trying to show that I understand she appeals to some, but turns off more and will hurt the ticket. I am challenging Kmorrison33 to defend her statement that Palin is a strong pick.

It just got a little hotter!

  11. The note on the size of Alaska was a description – not an argument. Regardless -she has a tremendous budget to work with.

Obama has no experience – sorry, but nada.

No matter – you will be voting for Obama so any issues surrounding Ms. Palin will never be adequate for you.

How comfortable are you with Biden “the racist – who sat in office for 29 years” as the Vice President.

He only received 1% of the vote for the Democratic election.

    He has made racial comments
    He has made serious gaffes
He is the opposite of change – same old Senator for 29years.

Looks like Obama didn’t make such a swift move either.

I guess we could argue all day long on the vice-presidential picks.

In the end I will vote for McCain and you will vote for Obama and neither one of use will change our stance so we can either continue to dance around each other or move on to another post.

The pot has now run out water and is scorched.

  12. The size of Alaska has been used in other people’s arguments, and you went out of your way to describe that it is the biggest (Texas is the 2nd). Therefor, I think it is fair to assume that it was meant to be part of your argument. If not, ok.

As for Biden, I’m not exactly jumping up and down for him, but I do believe that should something happen to Obama he would provide enough leadership that could get us through the remainder of the term. I’m not convinced about Palin’s abilities to do the same. Biden, I do believe has shown that he understands the issues. He can be interviewed and talk intelligently about them.

I’m sorry you are giving up. I do not have to vote for Obama. I would have no problem voting for McCain/Palin if I believed they would do a better job helping turn around the many problems this country has. I am a registered Republican who believes that Obama is intelligent enough to understand all sides of the issues and young enough that he is not entrenched in the political BS that has caused countless problems in our country.

    Sssssss!

  13. your bro – All the candidate are intelligent – let’s understand that – they didn’t get in the positions they were in solely on personality or looks.

The question is which ideologies best suit you – although neither one of them are great – I am at the very least more inclinde to some of McCaiins and almost none of Obamas.

Not giving up just need to complete my finals that are due tonight and by the way don’t make me like you :)

Your banter has been at the very least, enjoyable.

  14. fair enough – I’ve got to put my kids to bed

    ciao
