• Welcome Purple People

To me Purple People are those of us who are neither Republican Red nor Democrat Blue; we find ourselves in between. The internet often represents those on the far left or the far right; this site is for those of us in the middle.

Since there are a variety of non-conformists that consider themselves Independents, here's a clarification. The point of view of this blog is basically Realist/Libertarian light...

-Pro Small Government, bureaucracies tend to be wasteful and inefficient.

-Government should not be the morality police.

-Less waste, lower taxes. Taxes are okay if spent wisely. Roads and schools need funding. Be smart with my money and I won't complain.

-Government shouldn't babysit adults. Help kids and assist people who have serious problems, but stop trying to protect everyone from themselves.

-Foreign policy should be conducted by people with brains and experience. Think, don't be reckless and don't be politically motivated. Remember that the U.S. is not the only country in the world.

-Tone down the rhetoric and remember your manners. Play nicely and don't belittle people who disagree with you.

    Moderates Also Welcomed

  1. A vote for Obama is a vote for the beginning of the END OF OUR GREAT BUT TROUBLED COUNTRY! CNN & MSNBC Saintly Obama seems to grow smaller the closer we approach him and find out the truth that cable news pundits can’t seem to find and or report? No longer can Americans trust the media, which was given special constitutional privileges to look out for the folks.”Obama is an empty suit. From the day he was sworn in to the Senate to the date he declared his run for the presidency, is only 145 days on the job. He has literally no experience. (Not figuratively, literally!) He’s not qualified to run a Dairy Queen. Recently, we witnessed the disgusting treatment of Hillary Clinton, including not being named Barack Obama’s running mate in spite of the fact that she drew 18 million votes. No Republican has mentioned race, but it has been the trump card for the Obama campaign even to the point of accusing Bill Clinton of racism. The savage treatment of Sarah Palin by the Democratic attack machine has gone beyond the pale even involving reference to her Down syndrome baby. What possible reason could there be not to vote for Obama? Maybe because he isn’t the right man for the job, regardless of race. Proven Obama has most liberal voting record in the U.S. Senate. Obama is to the left of Ted Kennedy, Hillary Clinton, Russ Feingold, Pat Leahy and Barbara Boxer. That’s extremely difficult to do. Obama is a textbook big-government, tax-and-spend liberal. He plans to raise income tax rates; capital gains tax rates, Social Security taxes (by virtue of eliminating the cap), dividend taxes, inheritance taxes, and introduce a slew of new taxes. His plan will destroy this country

“I think he can be ready, but right now I don’t believe he is,” Biden said in 2007. “The presidency is not something that lends itself to on-the-job training.” In debate among Democratic hopefuls, moderator George Stephanopoulos pressed Biden whether he stood by a recent quote. Biden said, “I stand by that statement.”

  2. Obama Fundraising Fraud

    CBS News.
Reports two more donors to the Obama campaign that gave a total of $7,722 appear to have made their contributions under fake names that look like they were written by a mouse running across a keyboard: Dahsudhu Hdusahfd of Df, Hawaii with the following employer CZXVC/ZXVZXV and Uadhshgu Hduadh listed as living in Dhff, Florida listed their employer as DASADA/SAFASF.

WASHINGTON/PRNewswire — The Republican National Committee (RNC) today filed a complaint with the Federal Election Commission (FEC) against the Obama for America campaign addressing its acceptance of foreign national and excessive contributions. The complaint demonstrates that the Obama campaign has failed to comply with federal campaign finance law in its fundraising.

    Newsweek:
Taken notice of the problems in its article Obama’s ‘Good Will’ Hunting, and has noted McCain camp made all of its donor information public while the Obama campaign has refused???

    American Spectator:
Obama’s Fishy $200 Million reports that an unnamed auditor for the Federal Elections Commission is being prevented investigating questionable fundraising techniques by the Obama campaign. Obama has already had to deal with several FEC complaints about fraudulent donors and illegal foreign contributions, and the FEC says those complaints have not been resolved. Obama camp has been cagey about the means by which it has made its historic fundraising hauls, which now total almost $500 million for the election cycle. His opponents during primaries raised questions about the huge amount of e-retail sales Obama camp was making for such things as t-shirts and other campaign paraphernalia, and how such sales were being tracked and used for fundraising purposes. While the profits of those items counted against the $2,300 personal donation limit.

Ignorned by MSM like CNN & MSNB. FEC analyst says that Obama’s filings indicate he has received large, bundled sums of donations from overseas, sometimes exceeding a quarter millions dollars. “It’s suspicious, and it’s the small donations made by credit card that need to be examined. Obama camp ignores the FEC. Until recently, the Obama Web allowed a contributor to select the country where he resided from the entire membership of the United Nations, including such friendly places as North Korea and the Islamic Republic of Iran. Unlike McCain’s or Sen. Hillary Clinton’s online donation pages, the Obama site DOES NOT ask for PROOF of CITIZENSHIP!!! until recently. Clinton’s presidential campaign required U.S. citizens living abroad to actually fax a copy of their passport before a donation would be accepted. With such lax vetting of foreign contributions, the Obama camp may have directly contributed to questionable fundraising by foreigners.

  3. The Obama campaign cannot be brothered with reporting on funding for the campaign. He has to get the message out to the people that he is the One who will solve all the problems of the world. Who is the FEC to even ask such questions of the Great One?

  4. I spent a majority of this election supporting Clinton, and up until Tuesday, I was planning on writing her in. But, in times like this I firmly believe that pragmatism must prevail. While I believe that many Democrats (~18 million) and Republicans now wish it was Clinton-McCain match-up and that Clinton of “the three would have been better suited to handle our current economic crisis along with rebuilding an internationally obliterated America, we must elect John McCain for president.

I ask this one question to the Barackolytes: Since when has the Office of the President of the United States been an entry-level position?

  5. How old was Obama when he met “Frank” in Hawaii? That would be Frank Davis noted Socialist who mentored and probably financed Obama. Davis is the key to Obama’s past and the bridge to Ayers and the Chicago political scene.
