There is a disturbing link between Barack Obama, FactCheck.org, and William Ayers. National Review reports that William Ayers and Barack Obama both served as co-chairs of the Chicago Annenburg Challenge. Obama called for an $3.5 million dollar earmark for the Annenburg Foundation that sponsors FactCheck.org. Several FactCheck articles have been viewed as promoting the Obama campaign line instead of truly acting as a fact checkers. Controlling the ‘facts’ is a hallmark of a totalitarian regime, and this is a truly unsettling connection.

Obama’s Challenge from the National Review
Let’s first review CAC’s [Chicago Annenburg Challenge] initial setup. In the first year, 1995, Obama headed the board, which made fiscal decisions, and Ayers co-chaired the Collaborative, which set education policy. During that first year, Obama’s formal responsibilities mandated close cooperation and coordination with the Collaborative. As board chair and president of the CAC corporation, Obama was authorized to “delegate to the Collaborative the development of collaborative projects and programs . . . to obtain assistance of the Collaborative in the development of requests for proposals . . . and to seek advice from the Collaborative regarding the programmatic aspects of grant proposals.” All this clearly involves significant consultation between the board, headed by Obama, and the Collaborative, co-chaired by Ayers.

Well, maybe your silly assertion would seem plausible if Annenberg (you misspelled it Annenburg) weren’t a conservative himself with ties to Reagan and Nixon who used his media platforms to promote a conservative agenda. But, as the conservative party is, at this very moment, splitting into one faction predominantly controlled by religious radicals and corporate centrists and into another represented by the older, more libertarian republican intellectuals, it would be understandable why a certain extremist group would be scared of Annenberg.
In any case, what you’ve posted is an outright misrepresentation and a lie to boot. Yes Ayers and Obama sat on the same volunteer board and promoted CAC. But guess who else did? Conservative Northwestern University President Arnold Weber, a former advisor to both Nixon and Reagan. So by the same guilt by however tenuous association logic you use, Obama is really a Reagan republican masquerading as a democrat.

Well, I can name you a about a dozen of Zero’s close associates from before 2004. I did not learn the name of a single one of them from the MSMM. And every single one of them is noted for notoriety, infamy, corruption, treachery, murder, or worse: Ayers, Dohrn, Davis, Wright, Pfleger, Daley, Blagojevich, Farrakhan, for examples.
So, without going to the computer, can you name me a single one of Zero’s associates from before 2004 that was an upstanding citizen with no ties to crime, corruption, radical religionists (Christian or Muslim), or Marxism?

Let’s not forget that Weber donated $1,500 to McCain’s campaign this year alone. Or the fact that many other Republicans have ties to Annenberg and the USC including the sitting Chairman of the the Republican Party for Illinois. Or the fact that Annenberg goup itself was just listed as a suppporter of John McCain by McCain himself. Did I mention that on their website, McCain is quoted with his support for Annenberg’s work on education. And when he died in 2002, President Bush called him ”a shining example of generosity, patriotism and dedication to serving others” and praised his ”commitment to education reform.”

Chief of protocol at the state department under Ronald Reagan, name listed by the McCain Campaign as endorsing HIM, Nancy Reagan describes Lee and Walter Annenberg as ‘good friends of Ronnie and I’, Reagan Library collaborates with the Annenberg Foundation on educational initiatives…….
