• Welcome Purple People

To me Purple People are those of us who are neither Republican Red nor Democrat Blue; we find ourselves in between. The internet often represents those on the far left or the far right; this site is for those of us in the middle.

Since there are a variety of non-conformists that consider themselves Independents, here's a clarification. The point of view of this blog is basically Realist/Libertarian light...

-Pro Small Government, bureaucracies tend to be wasteful and inefficient.

-Government should not be the morality police.

-Less waste, lower taxes. Taxes are okay if spent wisely. Roads and schools need funding. Be smart with my money and I won't complain.

-Government shouldn't babysit adults. Help kids and assist people who have serious problems, but stop trying to protect everyone from themselves.

-Foreign policy should be conducted by people with brains and experience. Think, don't be reckless and don't be politically motivated. Remember that the U.S. is not the only country in the world.

-Tone down the rhetoric and remember your manners. Play nicely and don't belittle people who disagree with you.

More on ACORN Fraud

More and more reports pour in on ACORN related voter fraud. From the New York Post 1 Voter 72 Registrations

CLEVELAND - A man at the center of a voter-registration scandal told The Post yesterday he was given cash and cigarettes by aggressive ACORN activists in exchange for registering an astonishing 72 times, in apparent violation of Ohio laws.

“Sometimes, they come up and bribe me with a cigarette, or they’ll give me a dollar to sign up,” said Freddie Johnson, 19, who filled out 72 separate voter-registration cards over an 18-month period at the behest of the left-leaning Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now.

“The ACORN people are everywhere, looking to sign people up. I tell them I am already registered. The girl said, ‘You are?’ I say, ‘Yup,’ and then they say, ‘Can you just sign up again?’ ” he said.

  1. If Obama “looked like those guys on the dollar bills” he would be long gone. But if you mention ACORN, Bill Ayers, Jeremiah Wright, Rashid Khalidi, someone inevitably pulls out the race card. That must be 1st amendment change we can believe in…

  2. God, Campbell Brown is so in the bag for Obama. I can’t the media and how biased CNN is. I can’t believe they just connected John McCain to acorn. Hee-hee.

Alright, I’m glad the media is on this. Everyone deserves to be on the lookout for any time there is voter fraud. Neither side of the debate should stand for it. And those on the left who believe that voter fraud and intimidation were used in the past do them no favors if they are to don’t condemn what it looks like some in ACORN is doing. And as for ACORN dude in Boston, it is good to get people to register to vote but you are hurting the election process and your cause if you don’t acknowledge that there could be some bad apples in your organization.

  3. This is a distraction from the voters currently being purged from the rolls, AGAIN.
Confirm your registration especially if you’re a minority in the military overseas or at home. This is an attempt to disenfranchise minorities from voting because they tend to vote democratic.
Vote early if you can. Vote early if you can.
And ask if your county has a ballot tracker option so you can verify that your vote has been counted. Verify. Verify. Verify.
It is well known that the Democrats have been far outpacing the Republicans with new registrations for months now so they’re getting even more desperate as the polls keep sinking lower for the Republican candidates.

It’s also well known that some people will try to sign multiple people up falsely and Acorn is used to this scenario. They can’t afford to get busted so when the signatures come into the office they must screen them. If they get caught with phony names they get penalized heavily. This is old news.

  4. One more thing. If you’ve moved in the last year check to make sure you’re still registered! Even if you moved within your town or county and you think you don’t have to re-register. The last thing you want to do is show up at the polls and not be able to vote. Provisional ballots are not counted no matter what they say. They get challenged more often than not.
    Vote early. And,
    Verify. Verify. Verify.

  6. Nothing new here, but it’s about time somebody opened up on what ACORN is about. These folks have been padding the voter rolls for years. This organization also provided Obama with the bulk of his public service experience, where he was invovled as a trainer, and also prosecuting cases to force mortgage lenders into the type of sub-prime loans that are wrecking the economy for the rest of us now.
