Pew Research recently released a study finding that found that 70% of the public believes the media favors Barack Obama while only 9% believe the media favors McCain. While people generally see the media as leaning left this number is up twenty points from the last election. What many find so amazing about the media’s blatant Obama love is that the media has simply not reported on important topics, and left Senator Obama as an unvetted candidate even to this day just a few days before the election itself.
Here are some important questions still left unaddressed by the media/Obama campaign.
Do you believe in capitalism, socailism, a mix of the two?
Do you believe in Black Liberation Theology, what the church you attended for over twenty years taught every Sunday?
Why did you pay an ACORN front organization over $800,000 this election cycle?
Why did you characterize your relationship with William Ayers as ‘a guy who lives in your neighborhood’ when you actually worked together, gave speeches together, and wrote a blurb for his book?
Does your tax plan include giving checks to people paying no income tax?
Can you name 5 legislative achievements you made in either the state or US Senate?
You stated that you would meet foreign dictators without preconditions, but not without preparations. What does that mean?
Do you support the government take over of 401K plans?
Do you agree with your VP that you will be tested with a major international crisis in the early days of your presidency?
Unfortunately, this is just the short list. There is question after question that have not been asked or answered; and days before the election in an insanely long election process people still don’t know the basics about the Democratic candidate.
The reason he hasn’t been asked these questions is because it does not matter. Does it matter if his economic policy is called capitalism or socialism as long as this is what is demanded by the american market now, as long as this is what will uplift the economy out of its crisis. I am not even an American but it is plain and clear to me why Obama’s economic plan is going to work and work so well, that america is going to regain its status as a major power again. I am afraid, if americans have not realised that they have lost that status and they need to do something very quickly about it, they have gone emotionally blind, similar to how a mother is blind to her child’s flaw. Meeting rogue nations without preconditions shows an
extreme courage, because even in domestic fights its very easy to start gunning at each other but very difficult to be cool and hash it out peacefully by talking and listening to each other. This is what civilized society demands. Talk and not brute force. Parents are taught to talk it out with wayward children and not use slaps and kicks. I am amazed that US which pioneered this reasearch is so blind as to not see that this is what would work even in relation with foreign countries which have gone wayward. Obama is a boon for America and americans would be fools to give it away and choose another old crony as their president. The fact is that if america needs to stay alive, it has no choice. It has to be Obama.

Actually I think you hit the nail on the head. No one in the media cares about what he thinks or believes. No questions for Obama because it only matters that the media gets their candidate of choice.
For the rest of us we’d simply like to see to see some basic questions and answers. This is supposed to be an inteview process, not a popularity contest, and the media has flat out dropped the ball.

Look at Tanlams absolutely incoherent and almost supernatural reasons why Obama should be elected, multiply it by millions, and realize what deep trouble we are in if this doesn’t end right.
VOTE MCCAIN.

Tanlam, you need to learn actual facts. You are terrifying in your ignorance.

I’ll try to answer your questions one by one for Obama.
Do you believe in capitalism, socailism, a mix of the two?
JBS: Our government is not Capitalist now and we will never be a Socialist nation ever. It will always be an amalgamation of both as it has been from its beginning. Ideological discussions are fun and interesting but really don’t mean a hill of beans when it comes to the practical aspects of governing. Ronald Reagan was neither a pure capitalist or a pure socialist. When it comes down to it the government plays a role in a vast area of areas other than our physical defense.
Do you believe in Black Liberation Theology, what the church you attended for over twenty years taught every Sunday?
Yes, as a Christian I believe in social justice. I believe that we have a responsibility to help out each other if we are able to afford to do it. I believe that the Christian gospel has an especially profound meaning to “blacks”. I believe that the problems in this country can be best solved from the bottom up rather than the top down. This is the gospel of the Kingdom of God. Government cannot help those who are unwilling to help themselves.
Why did you pay an ACORN front organization over $800,000 this election cycle?
For voter registration drives. They seek to encourage voting within disenfranchised populations. The Republican party seeks to suppress voting in these areas and spends money in order to do it. There has been a well documented history of it if you care to look. When more people vote and we have a broader representation of society it benefits the Democrats. When less people vote it favors the Republicans. When people vote they feel more engaged in the process and get involved. We need to have more people engaged rather than less.
Why did you characterize your relationship with William Ayers as ‘a guy who lives in your neighborhood’ when you actually worked together, gave speeches together, and wrote a blurb for his book?
He lives in my neighborhood. I served with him on two boards. I know him. I never said, he’s a guy who lives in my neighborhood without an explanation. The Republican’s have become masters of quoting words out of context. We have served together. We don’t have a friendship. Hyde Park is the area in Chicago where a number of professors live. It is a mix of all types. We don’t all agree. I have never agreed with any of the views of Bill Ayers regarding his Weather Underground ideals. I do respect his work on education reform however. I have been involved in education reform all of my adult life. Mr. Ayer’s book is challenging, enlightening, and makes some interesting points in regards to education. I have read it and have found it interesting. I haven’t ever said simply that he is a guy from the neighborhood. Our relationship was a professional, and not a personal one. I have never worked for him and he has never worked for me. The full extent of my relationship with Mr. Ayers has been known for a very long time. I have not tried to cover it up. It simply is not a very important relationship in my life. To think that this is a big issue now after 21 months without any new or additional information seems quite silly. I cannot prove a negative. I had little contact with the man. He is not a friend.
Does your tax plan include giving checks to people paying no income tax?
Yes, if they are having payroll tax withheld. Federal income tax is only one of the many taxes that people actually pay. Ronald Reagan’s Earned Income Tax Cut did the same thing.
Can you name 5 legislative achievements you made in either the state or US Senate?
For brevity, you can look up my profile on the Congressional Quarterly website. Also, you can my achievements in the Illinois state Senate. I am proud of my record.
You stated that you would meet foreign dictators without preconditions, but not without preparations. What does that mean?
Preconditions means that a dictator has to hold certain views or do certain things before dialog can begin. This sets up unnecessary barriers to meaningful dialog. Preparations means setting limits on the scope of conversation. It would not make any sense to set down with Iran for instance if they want to discuss the annihilation of Israel. If they would like to begin dialog about areas in which we can find agreement it will be worth talking. The nuclear threat is so important that we cannot sit idly by simply because religious leaders in Iran hold a theological viewpoint that is unacceptable.
Do you support the government take over of 401K plans?
No. I believe that pensions should be written in such a way that they have the force of law however. I also believe that 401k’s and other investments should be backed much like the FDIC in banking. It is one thing if your 401K goes down. It is something entirely different if your 401K collapses all together. With the banking sector in it’s current state investors must be able to feel confident in their investments.
Do you agree with your VP that you will be tested with a major international crisis in the early days of your presidency?
Yes. So will McCain. My response will be difficult for many of my more pacifists supporters. They must be willing and able to look beyond any one specific “hawkish” act to the larger ideal of ending this perpetual war stance of the “Bush doctrine”. Mr. Biden was quite right in what he said rather clumsily. My supporters will have to learn to transition from campaign mode to actual governing. There is a difference. Biden is right to attempt to prepare our supporters for this transition.
Unfortunately, this is just the short list. There is question after question that have not been asked or answered; and days before the election in an insanely long election process people still don’t know the basics about the Democratic candidate.
All of my answers have been said by either Obama or his spokespeople.

Morgo, it would be nice to hear what exactly you found incoherent and ignorant. Did you know that America ignored North Korea, did not hold any dipolomatic talks with them, and they ended up going nuclear?
Just sending troops to Rwanda and Somalia does not help the situation there. American has to take a leadership in initiating talks and talking to the leaders. Let me know what you find ignorant here and in my earlier posts. If America does not talk to Iran, and thinks of just going behind it with guns, you would only be antagonising the middle east further and sink deeper into an oil crisis, and be forced to give up your SUV’s and drive Toyota’s instead. Sure, Vote Mccain, and see where it gets you.
