    To me Purple People are those of us who are neither Republican Red nor Democrat Blue; we find ourselves in between. The internet often represents those on the far left or the far right; this site is for those of us in the middle.

    Since there are a variety of non-conformists that consider themselves Independents, here's a clarification. The point of view of this blog is basically Realist/Libertarian light...

    -Pro Small Government, bureaucracies tend to be wasteful and inefficient.

    -Government should not be the morality police.

    -Less waste, lower taxes. Taxes are okay if spent wisely. Roads and schools need funding. Be smart with my money and I won't complain.

    -Government shouldn't babysit adults. Help kids and assist people who have serious problems, but stop trying to protect everyone from themselves.

    -Foreign policy should be conducted by people with brains and experience. Think, don't be reckless and don't be politically motivated. Remember that the U.S. is not the only country in the world.

    -Tone down the rhetoric and remember your manners. Play nicely and don't belittle people who disagree with you.

One more creepy element of the Obama campaign for those who have read history or George Orwell’s 1984.

From News Busters - Dish Network Now Has An Obama Channel

Barack Obama now has his own channel on Dish Network running his ads as well as other biological propaganda.

Think I’m kidding? 

It’s called “Barack Obama’s Plan For America,” and is Dish channel 73.

From Politico

Three readers from different parts of the country email that Channel 073-00 on the Dish Network is now labeled OBAMA. (”What is up with Sen. Obama having his own channel?” asks a St. Louis reader.) The channel plays his two-minute ad laying out his economic plan on a loop, over and over.

The only explanation: The media buyers think they can reach enough people per dollar to make it worth the odd buy…

…Dish Network spokesman Parker McConachie confirmed the forum account and stressed that the channel is paid advertising, not a corporate endorsement.

    McCain is outmatched. Obama has more money than McCain at his disposal (McCain opted for matching fed funds, Obama opted out) and can spend it on increased advertising, the DISH network ad buy, etc. Money is another huge advantage for Obama moving forward into the last 30 days, a reversal of previous presidential elections.

    Who in the world would watch a channel on him all day everyday - they might as well watch MSNBC and CNN.

    He has already gone through 300M (+) dollars and it still hasn’t got him anywhere except to send out false poll results - I can start a poll and get the answers I want.

On another note just so you know My 10 year old thinks if Obama becomes president that American rights will be held lower than the rights for foreigners. This coming from a 10 year old.     Now he may not be the anti-christ (although some would beg to differ) and most politicians have their hands in the pocket of special interest groups. However, this is giong to prove to be the THE election that was actually bought and paid for by special interests. That’s exactly why Obama turned down public financing. There are special interest groups actually paying people to show up at his rallies so that his following appears massive. They are providing these individuals money so they can contribute to the campaign within parameters of the donation regulations. That’s why Obama is winning in the Urban centers, he’s the largets employer in the country right now!
    What about his comments regarding the middle class? In the same breath he mentions that the minimum wage must be increased to help the middle class. I’m not sure what planet he’s from but people in the middle class are not making minimum wage.
    Now, I’m a middle of the road Independent and I would have likely voted democratic this year but Obama is so far to the extreme left that I cannot vote to bring him to power. I’d be willing to bet that Hillary lost the primary due to the current voter fraud investigations with Acorn. Americans need to wake up before it’s too late!

    Unbelievable… I just came across the Obama channel 10 minutes ago and could not believe my eyes. So I hopped online to check it out. First the video of the children singing and then the one of the military-like boys chanting, and now an entire channel?!?! I agree with the comparisons to Orwell’s 1984.

    I for one, do not believe that Obama is very interested in upholding the Constitution of the United States, which is the oath of our President. Rather, I believe he is interested in upholding his own agenda. His views are too far to the left for my friends that are Democrats. What does that tell you?

    And the worst part is that many people who will end up voting for Obama, wouldn’t know what they are really voting for. They don’t go to the blogs like yours, they don’t read long data-rich threads, they don’t watch scary YouTube kids-singing videos. We keep going down in polls because people listen to the huge propaganda machine–and take that BS at face value. What we need is an arsenal of conversation changers. These attention grabbers that make an impact in 5 sec. And THEN those whose opinions still can be changed may start reading more. Obama’s side if excellent in this. They have pros working around the clock on all sorts of visuals that go straight to the emotions level, bypassing the logic. Just take a look at this site to know what I’m talking about.

    Can you name a single memorable anti-Obama poster that speaks to the center-leaning Democratic voter? I can’t. And to expose who Obama really is we need some of that. With my new blog and Facebook page I’ve started a new repository to fill this gap and hope it will take off and will be used and extended by others. Your comments and suggestions are more than welcome.

    Dish Network refuses to give me Foxnews as part of the basic channel package, I got to pay extra. Yet this thing suddenly shows up on my channel lists.

    Exactly how much is Obama paying for this? It’s a historical first, and I think we ought to know how much it costs to buy your own channel.

    I’m in the middle of an 18 month contract with them…is there any way I can get out of it. Paying these people money has me fighing mad.

    There is one simple solution to all of this… not watch it. If Obama wants to blow some of the millions he’s raised on this channel, let him, but feel free to not watch it. Getting upset that you are forced to have the Obama channel is the equivalent to being forced to have QVC.

    And BTW, be lucky foxnews isn’t part of your basic channel… I’m stuck with it and had to block it with the parental controls…
