Represetative Jack Murtha’s comments that, “no question that western Pennsylvania is a racist area,” was followed by an apology..
“While we cannot deny that race is a factor in this election, I believe we’ve been able to look beyond race these past few months, and that voters today are concerned with the policy differences of our two candidates and their vision for the future of our great country,”
Fox News reports Rep. Murtha Clarifies ‘Racist’ Remark, Calls Western Pa. ‘Redneck’ that Murtha just tried clarify his charges of racism against his own constituents by saying they’re really rednecks.
Not a good apaology. Pennsylvanians have taken it on the chin in this election. Barack Obama’s ‘bitter’ statements were directed right at Pennsylvanians.
“And it’s not surprising then they get bitter, they cling to guns or religion or antipathy to people who aren’t like them or anti-immigrant sentiment or anti-trade sentiment as a way to explain their frustrations.”
The left decided this election to talk down to middle America, and assume a no vote for Obama means they are backward and narrow minded. There are very few people that would argue that race doesn’t play a role in this election, but to assume racism or ignorance simply for opposing a candidate that has a very liberal voting record is rediculous and insulting. America tends to be a center right country, and the media along with a handful of candidates have met regular moderate to conservative Americans with scorn and arrogance for not thinking like they do.

Down the Home Stretch
With only two weeks to go the question is “does McCain have a chance”. His campaign for the White House comes down to a simple question, and he carry one of the following states,
Florida, Pennsylvania, Missouri and Colorado. And the answer is questionable. In Pennsylvania, Obama has a 10 point lead in most reputable polls. In Colorado, McCain is launching a desperate attempt to hold on to a state that was supposed to be consided safe. In Florida, senior citizens and woman are ovewrwhelmingl going for Obama and it looks like the Senator from Illinois will carry that state. Which leaves us to consider Missoure, where the Obama camp has established one of the finest ground support teams in the history on national elections. In addition, the money being spend by Obama on TV, radio and print venues is burying McCain. Look at the final results to see that Obama will win that state by at least 3 or 4 percentage points. So what derailed the McCain train? There are three basic reasons, George Bush is number one. The economy is number two and Sarah Palin is number three.
Why McCain picked Palin will have the political pundits questioning for years to come. Did he really think that Clinton women would cross over to his side? Did he really think the American people would accept an unqualified person to be the Vice President of the United States. Especially when there were at least 4 or 5 others, like Charlie Crist of Florida, who were more qualified. McCain had the truly unforunate position of belonging to the Republican Party when our economy took a dive. Like JFK once said, “victory has a 100 fathers but defeat is a lonly orphan. In this year, McCain appears to be that orphan and the American people look for change.
In every election, we look to three specific groups of voters, the democrats, the republicans and the independents.
In previous years we have seen democrats voting for the republican presidentail candidate(Reagan) and republicans voting for the democratic presidential candidate(Clinton) and independents voting for the person they belive is most qualified to lead. This election is seeing more independents going for Obama, especially in the crucial states. So look for Obama to continue his campaign theme, it is aimed at the independents pocket book. Does anyone remember the slogan, “its the economy stupid”?. Is was true then and its true now. And with the Bush anchor still hanging around his neck, McCain will not be sleeping in the White House on Jan. 4th.
Murtha needs to retire his soggy ass. John McCain WILL win. No doubt.
“If you’ve even clung to your guns or religion … you might be a Redneck.
Well rodw - When Obama comesin to take away all of your rights, you just might be running over to your neighbor redneck for protection.
Loser.
