• Welcome Purple People

To me Purple People are those of us who are neither Republican Red nor Democrat Blue; we find ourselves in between. The internet often represents those on the far left or the far right; this site is for those of us in the middle.

Since there are a variety of non-conformists that consider themselves Independents, here's a clarification. The point of view of this blog is basically Realist/Libertarian light...

-Pro Small Government, bureaucracies tend to be wasteful and inefficient.

-Government should not be the morality police.

-Less waste, lower taxes. Taxes are okay if spent wisely. Roads and schools need funding. Be smart with my money and I won't complain.

-Government shouldn't babysit adults. Help kids and assist people who have serious problems, but stop trying to protect everyone from themselves.

-Foreign policy should be conducted by people with brains and experience. Think, don't be reckless and don't be politically motivated. Remember that the U.S. is not the only country in the world.

-Tone down the rhetoric and remember your manners. Play nicely and don't belittle people who disagree with you.

  1. As always, many thanks for your tireless work in getting the truth out where it belongs!

  2. How will this sit with the Dems? Starting in 1977 with the Carter Administration. Then Nancy Pelosi, Maxine Waters, Barnie Frank, Chris Dodd… then who was overseeing Franklin Raines who made 90 million dollars. Gee where did some of that money go to Obama maybe. They are all crooks and I am pissed.

  3. prosecute them

  4. Yhis is a real eye opener. I am apalled

  5. Eat Your Cats and Dogs

    Joel S. Hirschhorn

Nations come and go, rise and fall as elites and the wealthy make victims of most citizens and plutocracies prevail. Current dogma is that we live in the greatest nation on Earth. Perhaps in terms of ideals there is some truth to that. But with another trillion dollars that we now must borrow at higher costs because of the meltdown of the financial sector, solidifying our position as the greatest debtor nation, Americans have little to be proud of. Our government and politicians as well as the corporate state have failed us. What do our young people and future generations have to look forward to? Be prepared to eat your cats and dogs.

Still more lies and deceptions will surely hit us as the fear-selling two-party plutocracy works hard to convince us prior to the coming election that things have turned better. In reality, there is no reason whatsoever for thinking that the nation is back on the right track. Of all the many narcotic delusions filling people’s heads the most dangerous and self-defeating is that we can vote our way out of this mess. Everyone needs to understand that Democrats in Congress have played a major role in delivering the nation into the abyss we now find ourselves in.

If Barack Obama had an ounce of honesty and courage he would have boldly told his first debate audience that he was going to modify his spending plans and focus on reducing the nation’s debt. And why did he not express deep sadness that the current bailout was repeating a long history of making a mockery of capitalism, with government refusing to let most large companies fail? When corporate fat cats know that they can continue to rape the country and walk away with tons of money, all we really have is corporate socialism. So why did we not hear Obama talk about his commitment to put corporate criminals in prison? Not dozens, but hundreds of Wall Street thieves and lying bank officials should be dragged publicly in handcuffs into the justice system. Why can’t Obama talk this way?

Don’t get me wrong. John McCain is even worse. Newsweek has reported that McCain, in his last mission before becoming a prisoner of war, ignored the warning that an enemy missile had locked onto his plane and instead of taking evasive action decided to keep flying straight ahead to complete his mission. Is it not clear that McCain will fly the nation straight into oblivion if he thinks his conception of our national mission should be adhered to, no matter what the costs are?

Back to my point: Americans cannot vote their way out of this mess. Their only real opportunity this year is to vote AGAINST the two-party plutocracy by voting for any of the four third-party presidential candidates. We need the world to see tens of millions of votes protesting the failures of both major parties. This electoral rebellion would keep faith with Thomas Jefferson’s correct view that America would need a revolution every generation or so. To keep voting for Democrats and Republicans just makes gullible and delusional citizens co-conspirators in the vast criminal conspiracy that is our political system.

Keep that sickening image of Americans, many sleeping in their cars, unable to afford pet food and their own food in mind when you go to vote. We are not merely on the wrong track. We are on track for people being forced to eat their cats and dogs.

  6. Lou Dobbs is a secret Republican he is far from Independent.

  7. Lou:

I WANT TO HEAR MORE ABOUT THIS! I am a Democrat in Chicago and ACORN is as corrupt as it gets and Obama is knee deep in it. I want change, but corruption will guarantee us the wrong kind. Voters must know what we all know in Chicago.

  8. What a surprise!. Who would have thought that CNN would actually tell a truth instead of a spin for Obama.
While there are plenty of people on both sides who have made fortunes on this mess it is still the Democratic Party’s social engineering that is at the root of the financial crisis. Now, the Democrats in Congress are trying to use the proposed bailout to further push their agenda and shore up their grip on power by financing yet more ACORN voter fraud. Here in Washington State we know something about the activities of ACORN as during the last election, their fraudulent voter registration scheme won the election for their Democratic candidate. Christine Gregoire won on the second recount by 129 votes. Being a heavily Democratic county, King County allowed the vote to stand instead of overturning it.in favour of the Republican Candidate as they should have done.

From the Seattle Times July 27. 2007:
“Prosecutors in King and Pierce counties filed felony charges Thursday against seven employees of ACORN, the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now, claiming they turned in more than 1,800 phony voter-registration forms, including an estimated 55 in Pierce County.

To boost their output, the defendants allegedly went to the downtown Seattle Public Library, where they filled out voter-registration forms using names they made up or found in phone books, newspapers and baby-naming books.

One defendant “said it was hard work making up all those cards,” and another “said he would often sit at home, smoke marijuana and fill out cards,” according to a probable-cause statement written by King County sheriff’s Detective Christopher Johnson.”

Siince the Democrats are supporters of this group does it mean that the Democrats support fvoter fraud. You bet it does.

And didn’t this group go to work for Obama during the primaries? Damn sure they didn’t go to work for Hillary.

  9. See this video which had over a million hits in something like five days. Obama crew tried twice to get it off You Tube via copywrite complaints. They fought and got it back up in two places. Watch it to the end. The cause, the laws, the players are all layed out. This needs to go viral to every person who is contelmplating voting for Obama.

  10. Joel Hirschhorn:
I feel your pain, brother, about both parties having mud (and blood) on their hands as it relates to the failures of our government. I understand why you want to vote 3rd party to send a message, but the fact is one of the two major party candidates WILL be our next President. I believe it is in America’s best interest for John McCain to win. Read into that whatever you wish. I am a lifelong Dem voting McCain/Palin this year. We need a reformer in the White House who will start the massive cleanup job while we recruit many more independent-minded citizen politicians to run in 2010 and 2012. It will take several election cycles to vote out the deadbeats, but we have to make sure we have a President who will begin to fix the problem instead of exacerbate it.

  11. Here’s a really good reason to support John McCain:

  12. One thing I noticed - why didn’t Lou mention nobamas connection to acorn?

  13. Thanks M L S

  14. *** in ohio voting for obama and on election day they will vote again. no one is stopping them. he already owns the country, we have to stand together and get mccain in or we are all doomed

  15. The story clearly says the ACORN played a small role in this mess. Truth is, the bigger issue is that the businessmen/women invested a majority of the money on derivitives and thats where the theft, and corruption took place. Im always amazed at how so many people are to ready to jump all over the poor, or low income families, as if they are the ones who create all the countries problems. And if Obama had a role in this why wasnt it mentioned, not once was obamas name mentioned, yet so many are ready to point fingers at him, at least he used this money to help fellow americans. Bush is using 10 billion a month to “bring democracy to Iraq”, and we all know you have to fight for your own democracy so it will never work if you dont bring it upon yourself. Get over yourselves peolple. Vote for McCain/Palin and youll get more of, if not worse Bush polices.

  16. Did you know that Heavenly once again did not discuss the topic at hand - she can’t - can’t deal with it - because she is one of the problems.

Everyone knows that Obama - the community organizer - is connected to ACORN. HE is the big white elephant in the room.

  17. Thank you for being the only MSM reporter that is trying to get out the truth. I am also an independent but an American first. I will vote for McCain because there is no other choice. Lou, watch your back, these folks are dangerous.
Again thank you I check your messages everyday.

  18. Obama/ACORN ties in graphic detail:

    http://justsaynodeal.com/acorn.html

  19. Man, a Tancredo/Dobbs ticket would have been just what this country needed. I think Tom voted for the bailout, but Lou would have brought him back to his senses…

  20. These are new.
Jerome Corsi - Obama & Odinga of Kenya, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8×9VQ5_Iqzk,
    Barack Obama - Kenya - Odinga - Obama Nation.Corsi, Odinga, Obama…Why Corsi was deported? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tEJQ9d5tzVk, also, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kq2oR1ltTgY

  21. Just like the Bill Ayers connection this is loose association and something that has a connect the dots idea which is very weak. In order for there to be an actual ACORN connection with Obama himself we would have to find out whether anyone in his campaign is directly associated with what ACORN is doing, which is realy messed up. BTW…There is no perfect type of government, and there never will be. All we can do is make the best of things and choose a resonably good candidate instead of choosing not to the vote at all.

  22. ACORN should sue Lou Dobbs for slander for the dishonest BS he claims about them. And Diana West has got to be the dumbest pundit ever.

  23. False machine - ACORN folks are singing like birds while they are under indictment. They’ve admitted to fraud - mainly because they have been caught on film.

You are beyond pathetic and ignorant.
