• Welcome Purple People

To me Purple People are those of us who are neither Republican Red nor Democrat Blue; we find ourselves in between. The internet often represents those on the far left or the far right; this site is for those of us in the middle.

Since there are a variety of non-conformists that consider themselves Independents, here's a clarification. The point of view of this blog is basically Realist/Libertarian light...

-Pro Small Government, bureaucracies tend to be wasteful and inefficient.

-Government should not be the morality police.

-Less waste, lower taxes. Taxes are okay if spent wisely. Roads and schools need funding. Be smart with my money and I won't complain.

-Government shouldn't babysit adults. Help kids and assist people who have serious problems, but stop trying to protect everyone from themselves.

-Foreign policy should be conducted by people with brains and experience. Think, don't be reckless and don't be politically motivated. Remember that the U.S. is not the only country in the world.

-Tone down the rhetoric and remember your manners. Play nicely and don't belittle people who disagree with you.

Where’s Joe?

After all the media claims that Senator McCain was irresponsible to pick Governor Palin as his VP, and all the articles questioning whether Palin had been adequately vetted, the irony is not just that Palin is a big hit, it’s that no one has heard from Senator Biden since the convention (except when he told a man in a wheelchair to stand up, and stated that Hillary Clinton would have been a better VP pick.)

The Media Spins Their Own Bias

Polls show that 49% of people think the media is actively trying to hurt Palin with their reporting, and 65% of people believe the media’s reporting is bias.

Obama Palin and the About To Die Argument

The line of attack is to tell voters that Sarah Palin will be president, and that she is not qualified for that job. So for a moment lets ignore the morbid, and highly suspect premise of this argument. It’s Palin v. Obama. It’s a first term Governor v. a first term Senator.

Can the Obama Campaign Continue to Play Victim?

The Obama campaign has made a habit of crying victim. Whether it was claims of cheating during the Saddleback debates, outrage at the Celebrity commerial, or unfounded claims that the McCain campaign was trying to scare people because Obama doesn’t look like the presidents on the dollar bill. There has been a constant cry of [...]

The Far Left Falls Off Its High Horse

Well so much for the arguments that it is only the right that makes nasty attacks and spreads rumors. It’s an argument that has had holes in it for some time. Anyone who reads the Daily Kos knows that this idea of the far left being politically noble is false, as ridiculing people [...]

Palin on Obama Not Picking Clinton

Palin Power

Psst, CNN Everyone Can See Your Bias

Breaking news on CNN Matt Damon is terrified of Sarah Palin!  Another Hollywood celebrity freaked out by the Alaska Governor.  So I believe the tally is Madona thinks McCain is Hitler, Whoopi thinks Palin is a Nazi, and Matt Damon is hiding behind his couch until Sarah Palin goes away.  Adding to the classy comments [...]

Defending Governor Palin’s Church/Religion

A defense of Palin’s faith and religion.
